Washable Rug Botanic Plants, 140 x 200 cm 

A washable cotton rug measuring 140 × 200 cm and weighing 5.0 kg, with a botanical pattern of leaves and stems across a neutral ground. The pile is 97% cotton, backed with a recycled-cotton base that gives the rug weight and keeps it from sliding under furniture.

Each rug is handmade, cone by cone on a loom, which is why the colours have depth and the texture has the slight unevenness of something woven rather than printed. The dyes are non-toxic. When a toddler upends a bowl of yoghurt on it — and they will — the rug goes into a 9 kg home machine at 30°C, on its own, no bleach, no softener. Tumble-dry on low or lay flat.

At 140 × 200 cm it sits well under a cot with room on three sides, or anchors the floor play area in a room of 10–14 m². The recycled-cotton base means it stays quiet underfoot and adds a little cushioning for crawling.
