Washable Rug Stardust, 120 x 160 cm

A natural-ground rug measuring 120 × 160 cm with scattered dark dots across the surface and a multi-colour fringe on both short ends. Weight is 4.56 kg — substantial enough to lie flat against the floor without an underlay.

Woven cone by cone on a handloom, which accounts for the slight variation in spacing between dots and the subtle irregularity of the fringe. The pile is cotton on a recycled-cotton base.

At 120 × 160 cm the rug fits beside a single bed with margin on three sides, or defines a reading corner in a shared bedroom. The fringe makes it a tactile object for a baby sitting at the edge — something to feel between fingers while the rest of the body is on pile.

Wash at 30°C in a 9 kg machine on a gentle cycle with low spin. No bleach, no softener. Reshape the fringe while damp and dry flat to keep the edge tidy. Repeated washing softens the pile further without flattening it.
